so I may have misspelled her name, but I heard quite a lot about Moria carries mess on tv with trying to sing a song. I like her music and wondered exactly what happened. It may have been a visual glitch that started the deal not sure. Was on vacation and only heard part of the situation.
I'm not sure if anyone knows exactly what happened. The news here is saying it was some sort of technical glitch with her ear piece.
I didn't see the live performance but did watch part of it on youtube. Yikes. That was awkward . lol She mentioned something about the monitors so I'm guessing maybe she lost her place in the music because she couldn't hear it. I don't know.
By the way, it's M A R I A H. I'm not pointing that out to be critical but since you mentioned it and I happened to know, I figured I'd share. I had to look at how to spell it on Facebook so I could search it up on youtube. lol
That's what they say: that she couldn't hear. However I call BS on that though, for a few reasons. One is that she's had trouble with her voice for a while now, and has not been shy about using the recorded tracks because she can't sing the way she used to. Also, this particular thing has happened before, at least one time in 2015, at a New Year's event just like this last one. So I don't at all think it happened because she couldn't hear. This last time, she even sounded wasted, so I think Mariah has just had her time of fame, and now she's done.
I wouldn't think one could abuse ones vocal chords like she has for so many years indefinitely. lol The backup music had all her high pitched squeal-singing she used to do so I suspect you're right.
I totally agree. Thanks for the spelling. My friend and I felt the same; She has had her day in the sun.
Frankly, she had an incredible vocal range, and she used just about all of it. A lot. I'm not surprised she just can't do it like she used to. She doesn't deserve any dismissal, scorn or derision for it, beyond the idea that if she's had enough, it's okay to say so. Anyone who sneered at her for admitting that her voice isn't what it used to be deserves a swift stab in the eye.

Though I heard differently, I heard it was a back up singer that wasn't performing, her back up just stood there and didn't lip sing. But I also haven't kept up with the news, guess I got wrong info.
Key word, was. She *was* a great singer. Now she sounds like shit. There's nothing wrong with saying that. Anyone who thinks there is something wrong with saying she needs to find a new profession now, should listen more closely to how she sounds. Because as I said, this wasn't the first time that she's sounded horrible, nor is this the first time her people and her have made excuses for why she sounds horrible. Just admit the truth people which is that she apparently has a drinking problem, and a problem of trying to convince the world that she's still amazing. Then, call her Mariah Scary and we'll all be better off.
Mariah Scary ... clever. Sure she's never heard it before. She's certainly gone down hill since her younger days, and there's no doubt she's lapsed into some of the same substance abuse traps so many other artis fall into. Her PR is probably trying to preserve her reputation. Witney fell pretty far too, before unfortunately falling perminently. Abuse is never going to turn out well, but people will just keep on doing it. As for her singing, it's lost a lot of its luster. TO say it sounds like shit though ... I don't know ... shit is usually pretty atonal.
If she has fallen in to addiction, then that's sad. I hope she can get in to recovery and salvage herself in some way.

All that belting and singing on the whistle register has ruined her permanently. she will never, ever be able to sing the way she did in the 90's again.
